Flexible Lawyer Jobs: 08/04/08
Wow, it seems that more and more flexible, part-time, jobshare or telecommuting lawyer gigs are popping up everyday. Okay, there aren't oodles of obvious opportunities yet, but flexible opportunities are out there. Perhaps a thank you note should be sent to the media for the increased attention to lawyer interest in flexible opportunities ... maybe even new books like Staying at Home, Staying in the Law and The Creative Lawyer have something to do with it. Whatever the explanation, there's probably never been a better time to be a lawyer in search of flexible work.
Here are a few interesting leads for this week....
Part-time Attorney (5-15 hrs/week) (DC)
Corporate Counsel - Part-Time (MA)
Paralegal/Assistant Non-Profit (MA)
JAG - Part-Time Attorney
Contracts Attorney - Part-Time (PA)
Part-Time Case Manager (Los Angeles, CA)
Part-Time Program Assistant - Non-Profit (San Francisco, CA)
Part-Time Contract Litigation Attorney (DC area)
Part-Time Associate Attorney (DC)

I would love to hire a part time lawyer. Here is what I am proposing:
Flexible work schedule.
No set hours.
No billable hour requirement.
Most of the work can be done from home (assuming your computer has broadband Internet access).
A flat, pre set fee for pretty much every project, most of which would be estate planning. The amount of the fee has not been set, and could evolve over time.
Most projects would have a deadline around 2 to 3 weeks after being given to you.
Most estate plans take My partner or I about 4 to 5 hours to complete.
In house training would be required.
Transition to full time practice would most certainly be an option.
I practice in North Los Angeles County, 72 miles from the downtown Los Angeles courthouse.
