Lawyers, What to Wear–or Not
Whether you're a new law school grad, looking to on-ramp after a career detour (and used to wearing sweatpants, jeans, and t-shirts around the house), or simply want to ensure your legal wardrobe is current, don't miss what Forbes has to say about the Right-at-Work Looks.
Here's a snapshot of what to wear:
* Navy Suits remain a good pick, before and after you land a job. According to the fashion article, Navy evokes power.
* Charcoal gray makes for a good wardrobe staple and signals you have experience.
* Opt for suits with subtle texture.
* Go for wool, even in summer.
Most importantly, especially for new lawyers or returning lawyers, don't think you need a closet full of suits immediately. You can build your wardrobe over time, adding suits or pieces over time--as your paycheck allows.
