Can ‘Recovering Attorneys’ Go Back to the Law?

Yesterday, I asked “does opting out of the law to pursue different interests mean severing the professional umbilical cord?” My answer: absolutely not.

But what about lawyers who sever the legal cord, and later decide they want to reattach to the law?

First off, do they exist? And, Is it possible? Heck, yeah, on both counts. Think freelance writer, recovering attorney, and blogger (DC Metro Moms, MomsRising, The Huffington Post, MOMocrats) PunditMom. Today, she’s thinking about dusting off her law license over at PunditMom. Should she do it?

Go ahead PunditMom, do it! You have a cheering section of at-home lawyer moms and dads, part-time lawyers, work from home lawyers, and recovering, but dreaming, lawyers behind you. Inspire.

Lawyers who take career detours or opt-out of the law can return to the law again. And, that’s a good thing considering how difficult it is, if it’s even possible at all, to say goodbye to the law.
