Darling Hill’s 1st Annual Top ‘Lawyer Mom’ Blogs
In the latest ABA Journal, the magazine lists the Top 100 Blawgs. No, Darling Hill didn't make the cut, but there's always next year, right? But many fabulous blogs did, like Carolyn Elefant's MyShingle, a great site for lawyers thinking about going solo or interested in contract lawyering.
If you loved the ABA list, especially learning about what's hot in legal blogs or blawgs, and you're into the flexible, work/life balance scene, you're going to love our list.
First, a huge thank you to all of the lawyer parents, friends, and Darling Hill readers who shared their favorite blogs. Now, for the drumroll....
Darling Hill presents the 1st Annual Top 'Lawyer Mom and Dad' Blogs:
Jodifur, where a part-time lawyer / mom to one dishes about life, motherhood, career--and we love her because she's not afraid to admit that "trying to do it" all is tough.
(Formerly) Knocked Up (and in Law School), where one law student and new mom "muddles through" life and law.
PT - LawMom, where a divorced single mom, working full-time and going to law school shares all.
PunditMom, where lawyer/mom Joanne Bamberger claims "having an opinion never goes out of style."
Bag and Baggage, where lawyer / mom Denise Howell packs in goodies for lawyers, including topics for lawyers looking beyond the full-time practice track.
Whereas, where lawyer / mom Linsey Krolik talks about part-time law practice and life.
Liza was Here, where an attorney and "an unexpectedly southern thirtysomething bibliophile lesbian mommy blogger" writes about life and motherhood.
LawyerMama, where lawyer / mom Stephanie Himel-Nelson shares all about her pursuit of career and motherhood - and dreams about shoes.
The SmartMama.com, where one lawyer / mama / green blogger takes on the environment and healthy living.
MamaLaw, where three lawyer moms discuss life with seven kids and career.
Law & Motherhood, where a lawyer / mom talks about life, stay at home parenthood, and career.
The Mommy Blawg, where an attorney and mom of three talks about law and following her dreams of becoming a childbirth instructor.
Finally, a little shameless mention of Darling Hill, the blog that's devoted to that place where life and flexible lawyering meet. A 100% lawyer-parent friendly legal niche.

I greet the Oh-Mighty-Ises with a faint hello. Humbly, I am just a lawyer mom (criminal defense, so I suppose I'm the lowest of low) writing about . . . double-dipping by cafeteria employees in my kid's cafeteria kitchen and . . . the subprime mortgage crisis and . . . other what nots. Thought I'd introduce myself in major humble mode. So . . . hello.
Thank you so much for including me as one of your top lawyer mom/dad blogs! I am especially honored to be included among so many other truly awesome blogs!! Thanks!!
Hi. As a somewhat recent transplant to Houston, I've decided to start my own blog with the hope that it will help connect like-minded lawyer moms in my area. My blog can be found at
