Darling Hill’s Hot 15 Twitter Feeds for Lawyer Moms
Whether you're a stay-at-home lawyer (SAHL) mom or a full-time office mom, you've likely heard about Twitter. Oh, before I go much further in this post, let me say this...lawyer dads, I'm not intentionally excluding you...you're post is in the queue.
Okay, back to rambling.... Actually, I KNOW you moms are talking about Twitter. Just earlier this week, as I sat in the mechanic's waiting room (is there a correlation between wait time and the final bill?), several moms were talking about "a thing" called Twitter. One even saying, "I just don't get it. Who really wants to know that I'm waiting for my car to get fixed?" Of course, I couldn't help but interject myself into the conversation.
In a nutshell, Twitter is micro-blogging and allows you to publish messages up to 140 characters in length. Say, what? Before I get to the Hot 15 Twitter Feeds, here's my advice if you're not sure how Twitter works or if you can't seem to understand what value it offers--or what value you can offer others:
1. Get started. Sign up for your free account after you finish this post. Just go here. Click on settings and enter your one line bio (this will help people find you and increase the intrigue of "following" you). If you already have an account, go directly to #2.
2. Start "following" people. Look for people to follow by name under the "find people" tab. You can also start with this list of Top 100 Twitter Feeds for Law Students (you don't need to be a law student and if you already follow others, this is a great link for finding new people). If you're signed into your account, you can click directly on the names and start following people. You can also begin your follows with the list below of Darling Hill's Hot 15 Twitter Feeds for Lawyer Moms.
Once you're following people who regularly Tweet, you'll "get" how Twitter works.
3. Tweet and Tweet often. You'll "get it" even more...and that's when you can move toward advance ways to use Twitter (i.e. targeted marketing). Enjoy being on the cutting-edge of social networking and introducing other lawyers to Twitter.
