3 Fabulous Multi-Use Adventure Trail Networks in Vermont

Though Vermont may be best known for maple syrup, Ben & Jerry’s, and scenic Lake Champlain, this small State is also home to three fabulous multi-use, recreational trail networks.  If you’re headed to Vermont or looking for a travel destination, pack your bike or running shoes because you won’t want to miss out on these trails.

1. Kingdom Trails
Location: East Burke, Vermont

The Scoop:  The Kingdom Trail Network, managed by non-profit Kingdom Trail Association, is made up of miles of well maintained and marked recreational trails. To use these award-winning trails, which are located on land owned by 55 landowners who generously permit recreational use of their land, a day pass or membership is required. The trails are open for the summer season for mountain biking and running May through October 31st. The trails are open during the winter months, offering groomed terrain for fat mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

2.  Craftsbury Outdoor Center
Location: Craftsbury, Vermont

The Scoop:  Craftsbury Outdoor Center, a four season recreation and training center features an extensive trail system.  Craftsbury is home to what is considered some of the best cross-country skiing in the east.  In winter, Craftsbury features snow making to ensure its trails are in great shape for athletes and visitors of all abilities.  In summer, Craftsbury’s varied terrain offers a great location for trail running and mountain biking.  Craftsbury offers a fitness center, accommodations, classes, biathlon training, and camps throughout the year for all ages.  Don’t forget to grab a day pass or an annual membership pass before you go.

 

3.  Catamount Outdoor Family Center
Location: Williston, Vermont

The Scoop: Non-profit Catamount Outdoor Family Center offers the perfect place for year-round family fun.  Miles of trails feature views of the Green Mountains, the Winooski River Valley, Lake Champlain, and the Adirondacks, which are perfect for trail running, walking, hiking, mountain biking, fat biking, and snowshoeing.  Catamount Outdoor Family Center has a long history of offering well-organized and exceptional camps for children and adults, including mountain biking and XC trail running camps.  Catamount is also known for its summer running series and weekly mountain bike races.  Catamount offers ample parking and reasonable day pass and membership rates.
